Different Types of Vitamins for the Skin
There are so many different types of vitamins that contribute greatly to your skin! I wanted to break down a few of the different types and their chemical name (name written on the ingredients) so you all know what to look for and how it can benefit your skin.
Vitamin | Chemical Name | Function |
Vitamin A | Retinol | Antioxidant. Known to help with anti-aging, firms skin, reduce fine line and wrinkles. You can also get prescription-strength retinoid from your doctor that can be used to treat acne however it can cause skin irritation if used frequently. |
Vitamin B3 | Niacin, Niacinamide | Anti-Oxidant and Skin-Brightening. It helps with anti-aging. Strengthens skin barrier functions which helps your skin retain moisture while also keeping pollution and dirt out. |
Vitamin B5 | Pantothenic acid, Panthenol | Moisturizing. Help prevent moisture loss in the skin, extremely hydrating. Healing and soothing for your hair and skin. It can be used to treat dry scalp and skin. |
